Geologist #4: List some Geologic Materials Used in Building Your Home

My mom and I did a skavinger hunt with her camera to find things for this one. My mom is going to type the rest becaus i don't like big words. I took all the pictures though. Here is what we found:

The metal posts in our (very mess, please ignore that!) basement are iron, which comes from hematite.

The pipes which carry water to our house are made out of copper, which comes from malachite.

Our furnace is made out of sheet metal, which is zinc and comes from sphalerite.

Our side door is aluminum, which comes from bauxite.

Our windows are made of glass, which comes from quartz. Our cat is Harriet and she does not.

Our foundation is made of concrete, which comes from limestone.

Outdoorsman Requirement #9: Go on a 3 Mile Hike with Yoru Den

My den went on a walk for Israel. We carried flags and waved at cars. It was fun to cheer when they honked for us. Then, Louis had us keep walking all the way to the ice cream place so that we could earn our belt loop for hiking. It was my first belt loop!!

Outdoorsman Requirement #11: Demonstrate Setting Up a Tent

I used some money from my bank account to buy this tent at target. It is my backyard clubhouse. I set it up with my friend Keenan. My dad watched and my mom took pictures.

Handyman Requirement #3: Help Change a Tire on a Car

Not all of the stuff I do is fun enough to take a picture of. But I really liked helping my dad change the tire on my moms car. She drove over nails and they poked holes in her tire! But my dad filled the holes in and then i helped him put the tire back on her car and take off the donut tire. :-)

Here is me at the BB gun range with my old cub scout den last year at our weekdne camp out:

I really liked shooting my BB gun. I was really good at it. I even earned a marksman badge, but it got lost before mom coudl but it on my vest. She says we'll wright and ask for a new one.

Here is a picture of my first pinewood derby car my dad and I made. I did really good in the race!

And here are some pictures of me getting my Maccabee medal at the awards ceremony this spring. I wroked REALLY hard to get it, and now i have to start all over on the Aleph one too!

So now you are all cot up on what we have pictures of. Now we will post pictures of me doing NEW things, because I am a Webelo now. :-)
